Join us for an intimate, interactive, and uniquely Nova Scotian cultural experience! Hear traditional Cape Breton fiddle music as it was meant to be heard… and pick up a few dance steps and Gaelic words along the way! Three half-hour Cèilidh performances are held each day in the historic setting of the former Peggy’s Cove schoolhouse, built in 1839.
The Schoolhouse
Built in 1839, The Schoolhouse has been a place of learning and worship, a community gathering space, and—since 1958, when it ceased to be a school—the scene of artistic presentation. The Schoolhouse returns to its decades old tradition of educating and entertaining. The Schoolhouse is operated by the Peggy’s Cove Centre for Arts & Culture as its main performance venue.
Peggy’s Cove Centre for Arts & Culture
Incorporated in 2022 under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, the mission of the Peggy’s Cove Centre for Arts & Culture is to foster pride of place and to preserve the unique character, heritage, authenticity, and values of Peggy’s Cove by sharing east coast art and culture with Nova Scotians, Canadians, and visitors from around the world.
